Each quarter Rebecca Slotegraaf, Associate Dean for Research at Kelley, publishes a faculty research bulletin to share the important work of faculty across department are conducting in various sectors of business. The latest issue showcased innovative research in the life sciences field.
One faculty member highlighted is Lucy Yan who is a Life Sciences Research Faculty Fellow through the Kelley Center for the Business of Life Sciences. After a friend faced a health crisis, Lucy Yan, the John & Esther Reese Professor and a professor of operations and decision technologies, became interested in understanding how social media is used by patients seeking help and support. In this video, Yan discusses how social media has changed the healthcare industry and how her research frames our understanding its increasing role.
